Treatment for Herpes

Did you know that more than 40 million Americans suffer from some form of Herpes?

Its an extraordinary number of people who suffer from this condition, however what is even more extraordinary is that this number may actually be a lot higher! Some health organizations estimate that the percentage of the US population who have some form of Oral Herpes is in excess of 50%, and Genital Herpes as much as 20%.

Herpes is a virus that is easily passed from one sufferer to the next and there are more than 500,000 Americans newly contracting the Herpes virus each year, most of them being in their teens. There are two main forms of the herpes virus – HSV-1 (also known as type 1 herpes) and HSV-2 (also known as type 2 herpes). Typically, genital herpes is most often a result of contracting the HSV-2 virus.

What is so innocuous about the Herpes virus is that it comes and goes – in other words sufferers get an outbreak of the virus, and this generally occurs at times most inconvenient to the sufferer. Such as going for a job interview, a date, meeting a partners family….sufferers can be guaranteed that whenever they DON’T want herpes to show, then that is when it will surface.

Herpes not only affects people physically, it destroys confidence and wrecks emotional havoc on those who contract it given the stigma that surrounds the herpes virus.
